From Privilege to Possibility.

Train Like the Surgeons Who Will Define the Next Decade.

The Academy of Surgical Innovation, in collaboration with MicroPort® MedBot and RCGA, presents the official Toumai™ MT-1000 Clinical Certification. A six-step pathway from theory to independent practice — the same standard used at 35+ hospitals worldwide.

About the Academy

Building Equal Competence Globally

The Academy of Surgical Innovation is the educational platform behind the Toumai MT-1000 Clinical Certification. The curriculum is structured by MicroPort® MedBot — the only company in the world covering the six major surgical-robotics specialties — and delivered in collaboration with RCGA across Latin America.

This is not a course. It is a clinical pipeline: theoretical mastery, simulator-validated competence, dry-lab certification, and proctor-supervised live surgery — until a surgeon is ready to operate independently.

No shortcuts. No symbolic certificates. Real surgical readiness.

The Program

Eight Modules. One Standard of Practice.

The Toumai certification program is structured into eight progressive modules. Each module ends in a competency checkpoint. No surgeon advances without demonstrated mastery.

M·01

System Architecture & Clinical Foundations

Understand master-slave kinematics, indications, and electrosurgical safety.

M·02

OR Setup & System Initialization

Execute boot sequences, OR layouts, and self-diagnostics flawlessly.

M·03

Sterile Field & Draping Protocols

Drape every component with zero compromise to asepsis.

M·04

Vision Platform & 3D Endoscope

Manipulate the 3D endoscopic system for optimal visualization.

M·05

Patient Platform Docking & Port Placement

Strategize trocar placement and dock without tissue avulsion.

M·06

Surgeon Console Ergonomics & Teleoperation

Achieve ambidextrous teleoperation through hand controls and pedals.

M·07

Instrument Handling & Lifecycle Management

Install, exchange, and reprocess instruments with digital lifecycle tracking.

M·08

Emergency Interventions & Undocking

Respond to faults, power loss, and surgical emergencies by protocol.

Eight modules. One certification. Zero shortcuts.

Methodology

Learn It. Simulate It. Operate It.

The Toumai pathway separates learning from doing — and gates one with the other.

Theoretical Mastery

Pre-shipped didactic content. Robotic surgery fundamentals, video library, system anatomy, indication review. Completed before any hardware contact.

Simulation-First

20 to 40 hours of simulator practice with on-site clinical specialist support. No surgeon touches a patient before the simulator says they're ready.

Proctored Live Surgery

Initial cases performed under direct proctor supervision, started within 15 days of theoretical certification. Independent practice authorized only when the proctor signs off.

Competence is verified, not assumed.
